Regatta HQ - Fletcher Rae
Regatta are one of the UK’s leading outdoor clothing brands, with over 400 corporate staff across the country. Their new headquarters opened recently, in Trafford, featuring a beautiful curved timber facade as part of the design, which was carried out by Fletcher Rae. The architects, who are based in Manchester, worked with SpaceInvader to design the interiors. The scheme, which was completed in 2015, was awarded the UK Project of 2015 at the FX International Interior Design Awards. Since then it has won various other awards, including the Mixology North Commercial Interior Project Award. The truly remarkable side to this scheme, however, is in its transformation from what previously stood in its place. The dilapidated red-brick warehouse, which was previously a World War One arms factory, is now a distant memory in the face of the impressive timber clad exterior, which undulates and curves to follow the shape of the new design with exaggerated, continuous roof lines. The construction contract was given to Caddick Construction, and was estimated to be worth £7 million.
