Lime Street - Neptune Developments
The foundations have been laid and work has begun on Neptune Developments £35 million redevelopment scheme at Lime Street in Liverpool. Aimed at breathing new life into that part of the city, the development was granted planning permission as far back as 2015, but work had been on hold while various other challenges to the site were resolved. The scheme will see the eastern side of Lime Street redesigned to include areas for commercial, retail and leisure properties at ground floor level, whilst up above and just behind the building will include brand new student accommodation, which will house 412 rooms, as well as a 101 room hotel by Premier Inn. The development sits on the site of the old Futurist cinema, and the aluminium mesh cladding that is set to be used - similar to that of the new Everyman design, will feature throwback imagery to the Futurist cinema.
